L. Fitch (1938-1998) came to painting later in his life after a career as a traveling salesman. Upon retiring, he settled in southeastern Ohio where he began a prolific painting career—first as a hobby, then professionally. Through his participation in regional art competitions, as well as the opening of his own gallery, L. Fitch became locally recognized as a premier landscape and still life artist. His brilliant use of hue, detail and design reflect the immense beauty found in everyday life. Often one can see the influence his years of travel had on his work. This influence creates a unique and original style only found in an L. Fitch original.
